Known brands like Victoria Secrets and Forever-21 are great in the trendy and low-price department but as you may already know those pretty little things are made with very unsustainable and unethical practices. Both brands Earning a D+ rating for their practices according to the fourth annual Ethical Fashion Report released by the Baptist World Aid Australia. So next time you feel like getting flirty with your significant other or just want to find your everyday bra and panties that are good for the planet.Check out this list below of eco-friendly and super cute lingerie brands that are also inclusive to all types of bodies.

In the past 10 years, more and more clothing brands and lifestyle brands have ben taking the eco-friendly route to combat the ugly effects fast fashion has had on the planet. It used to be hard to find ethical and eco-friendly underwear and lingerie brands. That has recently changed with the topic of climate change becoming a huge concern and fashion designers changing their ways to become more kind to mother earth. When deciding on which brands to buy from make sure they are transparent about their brand. You can usually find this information out on their website, but a quick email to the brand is also a great way to see if they practice sustainability or not. Its also important to look for environmentally conscious fabrics like organic cotton, fair-trade silk and an innovative textile called Tencel.

1. Intimissimi

This Italian clothing brand that started in 1996, is launching a eco-responsible collection this year and has started a pledge for any purchase made online, Intimissimi will plant a tree in honor of that customer in March. The Italian label is committed to planting 20,000 trees around the world. All the sustainable material used for the collection is available on the labels and also on the website.

2.Lara Intimates

This all female run brand uses up-cycled material for their lingerie meaning they re-use recycled and unused textiles from other large brands and factories that otherwise would have been thrown out. The prices are very fair and start at $24. Lara Intimates designs all their bras and bralettes with no underwire. Lastly, they have zero waste fabric, and use eco-friendly packaging with size-inclusive options.

3.Bare

Bare is an inclusive and sustainable brand based out of Bali by designer Kare Kupe who designs her work in Naarm, Australia. This is a line of basics and underwear made with bamboo. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable fabrics you can use that is just as soft, if not softer than cotton. It only needs rainwater to grow and does not need to be de-rooted after harvesting making it less damaging to the earth.

Pansy is brand based out of California that started in 2013. It uses all organic cotton for its bras and panties which are grown and milled locally as well as designed and sewn locally. The esthetic is minimal, sturdy and comfy crafted with care to create beautiful underwear you can feel good in and about wearing.

This underwear and loungewear brand established in 2014 focuses on using organic and sustainable materials. The website goes into thorough detail of the materials they use and how they are sustainable as well as minimizing waste by using second hand supplies. Their aesthetic is high end with the quality to match and partner with local artisans and technicians to create small production runs based out of Los Angeles, CA.

As sustainable is a new trend in fashion and will continue to be influenced.There is some mains brand known for their sustainable jeans brands such as Reformation, Levi’s, Alternative Apparel. Buying less can help with the environment and your economy. With a pair of jeans, I can show you how many different styles you could mix with it!

Basic Shirt with Jeans

This combo is a basic that everyone should have in their closet. It’s basic but very trendy and timeless.

This is an organic cotton shirt from Eileen Fisher. Its original price is $188…. you are probably thinking, $188 for a shirt?!?!?! I get it. But it is definitely worth it if you know how ethically it is made and there are so many outfit ideas you can pull out from this!

One problem the fashion industry has that is wreaking havoc on the environment is fast fashion. Where new clothes go on the market faster than people can buy them and then after one wear the clothing starts to deteriorate adding to the growing problem of waste that does not breakdown and sits in landfills for years on end. Lets break the cycle and find clothing that is not only constructed better but is made from sustainable sources! The best way to get a lot of wear from these pieces to buy things that are staples for your wardrobe! That way you can wear them time and time again and be able to mix and match with other pieces on your wardrobe to create new outfits!

In order to have a buildable wardrobe it’s important to have basics. The easy no fuss or frills pieces that make getting dressed a breeze. The whole point is to be able to mix and match with your more exciting pieces to have an endless combination of outfits for an occasion .Something as simple as blue jeans or a pair of black trousers can be mixed with any combination of plain t-shirts or tops to create the experience of never wearing the exact same outfit twice. Simple classic silhouettes and solid colored garments are key to finding your staples. Keep reading to see examples of the essentials every women should have. Before you begin here are some key points to remember before buying your essential pieces! Do your research on the brands you choose to buy from to see if they use sustainable practices . Read the labels and look for fabrics that maybe have been recycled or are 100% organic. Lastly, pay attention to construction of the garment, if the fit is off or you see loos threads or the garment just looks off to you its most likely made very cheaply and fast so definitely watch out for those things. When are garment is constructed well you can tell and the fit and feel will resemble this.

Yes this is definitely the most basic of basics for your wardrobe but trust me the white t-shirt gives you so many options and you will always look chic and put together. This blog I will introduce you to sustainable materials that you may have not to think of that could turn into clothes! These materials are sustainable, eco-friendly, and unique.

Coffee Ground !

Who would think that coffee ground can turn into a wearable clothing item? This idea came up in 2005, from a Taiwanese couple, Jason Chen and his wife Amy when they were at Starbucks and having their coffee. Amy noticed a group of old ladies collecting leftover coffee grounds. She then told Jason that this is a great idea to turn coffee into the fabric because coffee can take away the body odor. shortly after her suggestion, Jason launched a first brand that converts leftover coffee grounds into a fabric called S.Cafe. He mixed the coffee grounds with the polyester, which made from recycled plastic bottles to make the coffee yarn. One T-shirt can be made with three cups of coffee grounds and five recycled plastic bottles! Here are some brands that carry clothes that made from coffee: S.Cafe, Patagonia, North Face, Timberland, Adidas, American Eagle, and Victoria’s Secret.

Milk Cotton !

Food and dairy are being wasted every day and has become a huge issue. Why don’t we turn the waste into something that wearable? That’s why we are turning milk that can’t be consumed by humans into the fabric. It is made with casein power found in milk and called QMilch from a woman name Anke Domaske in German. This fabric feels like silk, which is very soft to touch and comfortable to wear. However, the production of milk fiber is very minimal. Due to the minimal of milk fiber production, there are not a lot of brands that carry products made from this fiber. I hope one day this fiber would be popular and people start using it for more clothing items. Here is a brand I found that L.A. based brand called Mi Terro

Pineapple Fiber !

Last but not least, we have Pineapple Fiber! This fiber is made from pineapple leaves and commonly used in the Philippines. As we know that leather is very bad and animal cruelty. However, Dr. Carmen Hijosa, who has been researched and came up with the idea of using pineapple’s leaves and turns it into the fiber. She uses this fiber and turns it into leather goods. Not only she developed such a sustainable fiber but also create jobs and income for many people in the Philippine. She has a brand called Pinatex and an online shop called Ananas-Anam, which sells leather goods made from pineapple leaves. This fiber is such a huge thing in the fashion industry, now we can replace real leather with organic leather.

I believe that now after reading our previous articles, you are more aware and cautious about being sustainable. But what can we actually do to help our planet? Today, I will give you some easy tips you can start today to be sustainable through clothing!

1. Buy from Second Hand Store!

The easiest start to a sustainable life is to buy clothes from a second-hand store, such as vintage wear and thrift shop. There are so many online/stores that sell vintage items.

2. Recycle!

Next one is very simple, donate and recycle what you have. It makes you feel better.

3. Find Alternatives!

There are so many brands that are sustainable these days. Although the price may be higher, it is definitely worth it for you, and for the planet. Here are some brands that are sustainable; Patagonia, Levis, Madewell, and Reformation

Not only is it important to where sustainable clothes on your body, but also equally as important to use sustainable clean beauty products because choosing to use clean skin care and makeup is not only good for you but also good for the planet!

Skin care is something that I am passionate about. So naturally (no pun intended) I found it essential to transition to all clean skin care products!The FDA doesn’t have to approve skin care products before they hit the shelves so its crucial for us consumers to pay attention to what we are using on our bodies!Now-adays its much easier to find all clean skin care that is because of the internet and helpful labels that are on clean skin care that tells you why its clean!

Today I am going to take you through my skin care routine of clean products I like to use daily! It is important to stay consistent with your skincare routine to start seeing results and to help deter the aging process. Aging is inevitable but with help from the right products made with good for you and good for the planet ingredients it can help one to age beautifully and prevent deep wrinkles and age spots.

According to a survey in recent years, between 50 to 80 percent of women use makeup occasionally. Another survey shows that women consume 4 to 9 pounds of lipsticks over their lifetime. A lot of makeup brands use ingredients that harmful to the environment and even our health. As consumers, what can we do to shop sustainably and become sustainable consumers? Here are some beauty products that are not only eco-friendly but actually worked. Let’s become sustainable consumers together !

1. Reusable Cotton

Cotton pads or cotton balls are one of the major leads to makeup waste. Cotton is Instead of re-buying them and wasting a bunch of money, we can start using reusable cotton pads or cloths. They are easy to use and wash. These reusable cotton pads and cloths can be made from bamboo, cotton, or hemp. Here are some brands that you can pick and choose for this product Etsy, Urban Outfitters, HUKU, and Sephora with very cheap price that you can afford .

2. Gluten Free Lipstick

Every women own at least a lipstick. In fact, a lot of us own more than two lipsticks with different shades or different formula. Based on a survey, women consume 4 to 9 pounds lipstick in their lifetime. Some ingredients to make a lipstick are very harmful to our health when we directly swallow it every time we put it on and harmful to the environment. Be smart and choose for yourself a gluten free lipstick! These lipsticks are all-natural, plant-derived ingredients, paraben-free, and vegan. 3. Organic Foundation

We put on foundation every day on our face, but how many are you know what ingredients are in your foundation that you use every day? Not everything feels smooth on your face is good for your face. With organic and natural ingredients, these foundations actually look good and worked on any skin types.
